I have a 67 c10 283 smallblock, borg Warner five speed out of an s10. My problem is it quit shifting into gear. Motor off it goes through the gears, motor running it will not. So I have two questions. Could it be synchronize-rs, or clutch? And if clutch are they pretty much one size fits all for small block? I got the truck this way, I did not build it. Thanks for any help.

Good morning.

If the transmission shifts with the engine off then it is a clutch issue not a transmission issue.

You will need to drop the transmission and drop the pressure plate and throw-out bearing. You can measure the diameter of the disc and go to a parts store and give them the measurements for the clutch. Make sure you tell them if it is a three finger clutch or a diaphragm style.

Did you verify clutch free play to be sure it is disengaging the disc? The old clutches had Z bar that was common for failing bushings and not allowing clutch operation. Inspect all the linkage to be sure it is in good working order.
