I was driving on the highway yesterday going about 55 and all of a sudden my speedometer went to zero airbag lights came on and my wrench light came on with an error code of odo data error. I was able to drive on up to the nearest parking lot and pull off the highway when the car was turned off and back on all the codes went away but the car is shifting extremely hard when going from Park to Reverse and Drive. When you go forward the car just barely moves no matter how hard you press the gas.

Hi,

Unfortunately there are a lot of Ford Edge's with this issue. More than likely you have an issue with one or both of the speed sensors on the transmission. The Turbine shaft speed sensor and the output speed sensor.

We need to check for codes and see what comes up but if I were you, I would take it to a dealer because I am sure they are aware of this issue and will get it repaired quickly. Also, they will be able to perform any updates that Ford has come up with in order to help prevent something like this in the future.

Let me know if you get the codes and we can go from there. If I am correct, here are the procedures on how to replace them in case you want to.
