To take off I to put it in low gear. Once I get moving I place it back in drive. Every time I stop. That is just what I was told by seller. Now I have car in possession. Car is not starting. I need to fix this problem first. Scanned it codes P1637 and code P1000 going to do research. I think I i's the fuel pump. Turns over. Ordered electric fuel pump parts of the fuel pump assembly. Car sat for years. Changed out fuel filter and oil. Will try and remove old gas. How can I fix this?

Both of those codes mean that one or more modules are not talking to each other a mechanic must look at this to get it fixed. Probably seller did not tell you that because you would not buy it. It is a can/bus problem it is more like an ECM or one of the modules listed. See pic.

So many issues. No codes appear on scanner. Except DTC fault on dash a week ago. I have been working on car for 2 days now. 2002 Jaguar Xtype 3.0. It was running but would die if I didnt unhook the battery over night. Toke it advance auto parts confirmed it was the alternator, overcharging.
Had time so started 2 days ago on it. Changed altenator. In doing so. I acidently ripped wires from the plug thats connected (i believe its called) throttle position sensor. The plug is connected to Deson 198500 3300 sensor.
I tried rewiring with it back together from pics on internet best I could. Now did that cause more problems by wiring it improperly and trying it all kinds of differnt ways. I checked all the fuses one 10 amp was blown, not sure if that was old or new. Engine will start with starter fluid run for a second and die or just continue to crank. I hear the fuel pump kick on before start. I dont have a preasure guage, I tried the thing where you take off cap and insert a screw driver. And NO there was no fuel that comes spraying out. The original semi good Altenator is back on.
Agin it was running before I attempted all this I dont think its a clogged fuel pump or lines. Im attempting to locate the fuel kill switch? How can I find the correct way to rewire plug? Figure out if fuel is getting to engine? Any help would be so so appreciative. I so defeated.
