Hi, my auto transmission is an F4A42. I need to change the underdrive solenoid (resistance high and out of spec). Do I have to change the other four solenoids as well? Or just the faulty one.

They are serviced by changing all of them at once with a rebuilt valve body, here is how. Make sure to clear the codes once the job is completed, check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.

Thank you for the reply. Could you please explain the reason to replace all the solenoids instead of only the faulty one (replacing all can get expensive). Is it for performance or peace of mind.

It is just the way they service them, if you can find someone that shows just the one I would replace it that way instead.

Thank you. I already know the problematic solenoid. It has 58 ohm resistance. All other solenoids are 3.4 ohm (within specs). Just wondering if all solenoids are required to be replaced for consistant performance.

If you found the problem I would just replace the one.
