Car shakes when on highway after 65, only sometimes. Have had new tires, balancing, alignment, u joints, boots, bushings and steering column all checked and /or performed. Mechanic is baffled, dealership not sure either. Anyone have this issue and how to fix?

Just to clarify, this vibrates only above 65 and does not do it all the time when you are above 65?

If this is the case, does it do it only on certain roads each time you drive on them and then not on others? Or has it done it on a road and then not done it on the same stretch of road?

When you say something is vibrating above 65 MPH but does not do it all the time then it is normally not the vehicle. Normally when a vehicle is causing a speed related vibration like this it does it on any road any time it reaches the speed that it occurs.

So let's narrow down on what type of vibration this is. Does it vibrate in the steering wheel, in the seat, in the floor?

Lastly the other possible cause is the all wheel drive system. This vehicle uses what is called a PTU or power transfer unit.

I am attaching the info for this unit. So if we can disable the AWD system that will eliminate this as a possible cause. There are a number of ways to do that but let's get to that after these questions are answered. Thanks
