Please, why would the security light on the instrument cluster remain on when I start the engine and throughout my drive time until I shut down the engine. This started after I recently change the fuel pump of the vehicle.
My mechanic said it will reset itself after some time when I complained, but I am worried about the indicator, although the vehicle drive superbly without any hitch.
Thanks

Sometimes when the battery is disconnected for a long period of time you need to reset the security.

Turn the key to run. Do not start it. Leave the key on for 10 mins until the security light either goes out or flashes. Turn the key off for 10 seconds then back to run.
Repeat this 3 times, total of 30 minutes. At the end of the third time, turn the key off and then start the car and the security light should be out.

This guide can help as well.
