When I attempt to start my Cadillac the icon comes on the dashboard with a lock and a key symbol stays on for a few seconds and then it goes off but the car still will not start up, I purchased a new battery and new alternator a new relay switch and a new fuel pump. Please help

Hello,

Do you have another key for this car? If so, I would suggest trying it. The transponder key system is not recognizing the key, and that is why your security light comes on.

The transponder system will immobilize the engine in two ways. First, If the system does not detect the proper programmed key, it will stop the fuel pump and will also take out the spark. Once the proper key is used, the car should start okay. If you do not have another key, I would suggest calling a locksmith or the dealership.
