my coolant light has come on. i put coolant in but the light is still on. i don't see any leakage. what could be the problem/ the temperature gauge is not moving up. it seems like the engine is not overheating.

low coolant level sensor is most likely faulty, be sure to replace the level sensor and not the coolant sensor in the engine. They are two entirely different things

See the diagram below for location/instructions to get to the low coolant level sensor

I recently was given a 2004 Saturn vue, the low coolant light has come on, and it goes off, my dad kept records with everything he did on the car, only thing that wasn't changed was the coolant, the car has 70,000 miles and the book said change coolant, 100,000 miles or 5 years which everything comes first

Is it a light to indicate low coolant or overheating? Is the coolant full?

low level coolant light is on the dash, but coolant is correct and temp is fine.

Before you go changing it why don't you unplug the sensor and jump the connector to see if the light turn's off?
