Actually, a few days ago our mileage was 116500. The next time we looked it was 954578 and since then the odometer has not changed. We know our approximate mileage shortly before the problem and can calculate approximately how many miles we have driven since then.

Would the module that controls the odometer control other things? How urgent is it to get this to a Saturn dealer (a distance away and requires most of a day for the trip there and back)? Our local repair shops said it has to be a Saturn dealer. How expensive of a repair might this be?

U have a bad body control module pretty common for that yr model. Yes the dealer has to replace and program the new module and put in the correct mileage. That moudle controls alot of stuff including starting the car.I would change it asap. Since saturn is so far do u have a local chevy dealer?Ask them if they can do it they should be able to and order that module for u. Let me know how it goes.

I took my car to the local chevy dealer and they were unable to read the cluster ID with Tech 2 and AJR is unable to repair this cluster. I talked to the Saturn dealer tech again and he said he thinks it is what you said (module not cluster) and told me about how much they cost. We just hope they have one in stock when my husband takes the car in tomorrow.

Yeah I have seen alot of those come in like that and it was always the body control module on everyone. We always stocked the body control modules that's how common it is. Make sure u call before u go down and ask them to check stock on it. Glad to hear u got it all figured out. Thank u for using 2carpros feel free to use again.
