1998 Saturn SL2 engine wont start

I have a friend thats working on a sl2 the kid said that it smokes and he had it a long time one day he was driveing it up hill fully loaded with friends and said that it just lost power then died and wouldent start after that replaced the plugs wires tested all the sensores except the ects would the ects be couseing all of that we have fuel to all the cylinders spark to all and nothing unless we floor it then it barly sputters there was only 125 lbs compression in three cylinders and one had 170could this ects be the problem ects is engine coolant temprature snesore

The CTS won't do that -try checking the exhaust for excessive backpressure-could be the catalytic converter

Will put a gauge on it but will the compression do that to a car as well? Also threw a p0341 code before it happend

We tried every thing there is we took the exoust off it wouldnt start new cts nothing would help we even put oil I the cylinder to see if the compression woul come up and it didnt

P0341 camshaft position sensor a - bank 1

Inspect the timing chain could have jumped timing or it broke off-hard to believe
