Yesterday I had the cruise set on 70. The car slowly sped up by itself, and when it hit about 77, I heard a click and the car slowd down. I pushed resume and it set at 60. I sped back up to 70 and pushed set, and heard a loud noise in front of me, the car instantly slowed down and started driving odd, and I smelled an odd smell. A couple hours later when I started it, it would not stay running unless I gave it gas, and it tried to die at stop signs. Today, same thing.

Use the diagram to find the coolant temp sensor and use a ohm's meter and the chart for resistance to test it.Let me know what you find.
