My car wont go into first gear unless the car is stopped, you know why

Is it only 1st or do u have trouble getting it into other gears if ur not stopped?

Only first, just wonderin if there was a safty switch or something I could bypass because when I come to a stop light that turns be for I stop I gotta completly stop then hit first

If it's only first gear and not all the gears u most likely have a bad 1st syncronizer in the transmission no way to bypass it's not a safety just part of the transmission.U can check the cables make sure there not stretched etc. But the syncronizer is the most likely cause.
