I replaced the bulbs and checked the fuses and my reverse lamps still wont work.I know there is something called a back up lamp switch. Does that have anything to do with the reverse lights not working

Most likely it is faulty back up switch, yes. This is what controls the back up lamps when gear selector is placed into Reverse gear.

Thanks for using 2CarPros. Com!

Thanks.I changed the switch. The weird thing is now the reverse lights only come on when u first put it into gear. They will only stay on if I hold the shifter into reverse. As soon as I take my hand off the shifter the lights shut off. Oh well at least they work now. Thanks

Hmm. That sounds like the connection may be a little loose. Did you reinspect the wiring to the switch? Also make sure the linkage to the gear selector is not stretched or out of adjustment.
