1996 Saturn SL1 high output alternator belt squeal

i have just put on a 180 amp alternator on my saturn. but whenever i put a load on it the belt squeals loudly and voltage drops until i take the load off. belt tension is normal too. i have never had this problem until now. is there any kind of remedy for this?the alternator works fine at idle putting out 14.6 volts. the belt only squeals when i turn on more accesories.

First thing to do is remove the belt and clean all the pulleys of any trace of grease or any evil belt grip in a can that may have been used at some stage, fit a good quality new belt, and re tension, this should fix your problem, and don't forget to check the tension after a week or so as all new belts will stretch a little after first installation.
