Hi
Transmission is stuck in second gear. The shifter is loose.

If the shifter is disconnected from the shifting fork linkage, is it possible to repair this problem without removing the transmission?

Thank You!

If the linkage problem is on the console end, you should be able to access it from inside the car.
I'll attach a diagram to this post. Right now I'm having computer problems.

Thanks for the reply! It appears to be the bushing on the upper side of the shifter pivot ball, which allows the actual ball on the transmissino side to jump out of it's shifter fork socket. I am trying to so a long distance trouble shoot for one of my children!
