My ABS light keeps going on and off. I brought my car to the dealer they said the axle ring is worn and the sensor has no response. The Tech. Recommended me to replace the axle with the sensor for a small fortune. What will happen to the car if the worn axle ring is not fixed? And also that there's no response from the ABS sensor? :

IF the ring is cracked, it will throw the ABS light on.

Getting an axle is the place to start as it will have a new ring on it.

If you don't fix it the only problem that you'll probably have is no ABS function.
