I own a 96 Saturn SL1. I recently tried to replace the alternator and discovered that the only place the bolt mounted to the bracket was broke in half. This mount hole is located on the corner of the bracket. I mean the bolt wasn't broken but the bracket was. I also discovered that the power steering bolts were broken except for one on the same mount. Is this mount or bracket replacable or is it part of the entire engine block? I also thought about welding or brazing (filling) the mount hole and broken piece and re-threading. Please help.

Man that stinks. That is part of the block. I would experiment and see what you can come up with. If the bolts were not torqued properly the breakage is the result.

Good luck and let us know. :)
