I thought the alternator was going bad because my car wouldn't start sometimes. The Serpentine Belt always makes a noise. Yesterday the Serpentine Belt broke as I was driving. I replaced it and drove approx. 1/2 mile and the belt started unraveling. What would be causing the Serpentine Belt to start to deteriorate so soon after replacing it?
