1993 Saturn Computer? Problems

Dear All:

"Service Engine Soon" light coming on randomly starting today. Numerous error codes in the computer to the point that the dealer believes the computer to be bad. Five hundred big ones for a new computer. Assuming they are correct and I need a new computer, I have the following questions:

A. Can I get a "used" computer somewhere?
B. Can I install it myself?
C. If so, where is it located and how do I do it? LOL!

Any help at all is appreciated.

Dear All:

I did some checking on my car and the computer is below the dash and is loose. Is it supposed to be tightened down? Could I simply have a grounding problem?

I would make sure the connections and mountings are tight. 89 Inch/pounds or 10Nm. Clear the codes by either disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes or pulling the computer's fuse. Drive for a bit and see what happens. If the light comes back, pull the codes and list them.
Computer from a u pull it junkyard around here are about $20.00 bucks. Easy to install.

Be sure to discharge any static electricity in your body by touching bare metal, before touching the computer. A computer can be ruined by a static charge that is too small to even create a spark.

All you have to do is count the flashes

example flash puase flash flash is code 12
and it will repeat 3 times for each code and the info for the code is free it will tell what codes are stored in the computer

My "Check Engine Light" is still coming on at random and the car is running absolutely fine. I am going to leave it alone until there is at least one other symptom.

De you have the dohc motor? Becuase my 92 sl2 does the same thing when I start my car the ses light comes on randomly and then when I get up to speed it turns off at like 30 and the car runs great
