1992 Saturn Brakes

Brakes problem
1992 Saturn Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 179K miles

I started my car and went to back out of my driveway, when I heard a "thud", and all of a sudden my car wouldn't move. Not forward or backward. It seemed my brakes locked up. I was not using the emergency brake at the time.

What is this and how do I fix it?

Hi there,

First thing to to make sure that a brake has locked on. Did you have your foot on the brake when you heard the thud? Have you had a look under the car to make sure that you have not run over something that may have snagged the hand brake cable? If not you will have to jack up each wheel, one at a time and see if it rotates freely in both directions. If a wheel is locked up re post with which wheel and I will advise further.
