1992 Other Saturn Models timing chain cover removal

Im just anting to find out. Do I have to remove the valve cover to remove and reseal the timing chain cover gasket on my 1992 saturn sl1 with a 1.9l sohc engine and will I lsoe much oil.

Yes, you will have to remove the valve cover. But if you plan to take off the timing chain cover, you will need a special oil seal replacement tool SA9104E or equivalent to retain the crankshaft timing sprocket to prevent damage to the timing chain guides.
