dear merlin2021? Let me start over. It only is hard to start when the temp. Is about 30-40-50 degrees outside. You know like first thing in the morning at about 4-5 or 6 or 7 a.M. In imperial valley, ca. Low desert. Just started this wenter. But before I had the water pump replaced by a couple of guys down by the border who have a "shade tree" shop. Ever sense they replaced the water pump, the coolent light and trany coolent lights blink on and off. Wont stop. But wasn't hard to start till it got cold. You are talkin' 'bout the sensor down on the exhast manifold going up to the water pump aren't you?

He is refering to the ECT=Engine coolant temp sensor...Also check for any vacuum leaks and the PCV...if clogged or leaking will make for hard starts...As well as the need for a good tune up!

Ishould ask, are there any code(s)? check engine light on? Also cked you EGR, if it's stuck open, even a wee bit, it will be a real pain to start!

The ect is mounted at the back or left side of the engine, and is screwed into the block. If you but the ECT, you will be able to compare what you see. It should only plug into one connector!
