Saturn L200 Series

Car runs fine
Start Driving, fans / blower turns on high
Car start shifting really rough in lower gears, runs fine when going high speeds

Dealership says replace motor mount...I say B.S. They haven’t done a scan or anything.
Would the motor mount be the real problem here? Seems to me it would have something to do with the fans coming on as that is when the problem of hard shifting starts.

Another note. When you turn the car off and let sit, the problem goes away until these fans / blowers come on.

ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

The radiator fans come on high like that usually when there is a really bad miss fire.I would have it scanned for codes first. Let me know the exact code numbers not code descriptions? The most common reason for them to shift hard is a bad pressure control solenoid in the valve body.

I had them do the engine scan and it came back with the TPS being bad. It's half the cost of the motor mount so I am pleased with that.

Love this forum. THANK YOU!

O.K. So the car repair shop says they won't give out the codes. I know Auto Zone in our area does a free scan. Will this be the same scan? Not sure what the repair shops problem is. The car is running fine now that the TPS was replaced but we haven't been able to drive it for an extended period of time.

For the tps code yes auto zone maybe can get you the. Code. If there scanner can read history codes. The deal with the shop is they spend thousands of dollars for scan tools. Plus the software updates for them aren't cheap. So to give out codes I don't blame them for not doing that.
