My car is going crazy, just saw another post about a 05 Saturn Ion with door locks going off and on randomly, dome light coming on and off. Car alarm going off when no one is in the car. AHHH need help to know what is going on. The dome light keeps coming on and killing my battery so I have to pull a fuse every day.

Does your gas gauge ever become erratic?Or do your door lock's or key less entry become inop if you have key less entry. It sounds like you could have a bad body control module It controls all the stuff your having a problem with. Have you had the car scanned for code's yet?

They have replaced the body controll module right after I bought the car, for the issues you are talking about. That was 50 thousand miles ago. I didnt think that would go bad again. This seems different I dont have problems with the gauges like I did that time. It acts like the door is sensing that it is opening with the dome going on and off. I figured thats what sets the alarm off when I use the key pad to lock it. I am trying to figure out how the auto lock plays into all this though. You know how it locks when you reach a certain speed well it does this uncontrollably while driving. Thank you for your suggestion. I will look into that again.

The body control module can go bad again there not the most reliable parts in the world. What I would do is put the dome light on door position so it comes on when the door is open then go inside the car and push on each door and see if the light come's or flicker's from you moving the door around. Also instead of pulling the fuse why don't you just put dome light in the off position so it doesn't come on and kill the battery easier then pulling the fuse.

Thanks. So the problem is the "door switch" thats what he called it. Said the connection in there gets corroded so to push the switch in and try turning it. Seems to have worked so far. I did turn the main dome off but the reading lights in the front dont have a switch and they are the ones that killed the battery. Thanks for the help! I will let you know if the problem comes up again and it wasnt the "door switch"
