2004 Saturn Ion car won't start

I will try to start the car and it will lock down in a security mode. When this happens the car will not start for 9 minutes. Then it will start right up. We never know when this will happen. All weather condtions, sitting over night, cold engine, warm engine. Pull into a store parking lot and run in for a coffee. Try to start car and it will go in to lockdown mode. I have seen no rythme or reason for it. Happening for about 6 months.

My saturn does it too. I called saturn and they told me that it was the ignition switch. I haven't fixed mine yet. Sometimes it will happen 6 times in a month and sometimes not for 2 or 3 months. The switch only costs 30 or 40 dollars. I would call the nearest saturn.
