Car turns over just fine, but won't start. Battery is finally drained from constantly trying to start. Car started finally, but ran rough for one mile, stalled, then wouldn't start. Let sit overnight, and tried to start again, this time it almost started but the battery died. A friend mentioned an Ignition module, but I think a fuel pump issue. HELP?

WE ARE HAVING A SOMEWHAT SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH OUR 1993 SAAB 9000 HATCHBACK SEDAN, WHICH CAME FROM AN AUTO AUCTION. IT RAN O.K. BUT HAD A TICKING NOISE FOR THE FIRST 3 WEEKS. THEN WE HAD TO JUMP IT TO GET IT TO START. FINALLY, IT WOULDN'T START AT ALL, SO WE HAD IT TRANSPORTED ON A CAR HAULER TO OUR NEW FARM, BECAUSE WE WERE TOO BUSY MOVING TO FIGHT WITH IT. THE HAULER SAID THAT THE TICKING WAS PROBABLY THE ALTERNATOR GOING BAD, BECAUSE HE COULDN'T GET IT TO START WHEN HE JUMPED IT. NOW WE CAN'T FIND A SAAB MECHANIC HERE. DID YOU EVER FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH YOUR SAAB? MAYBE IT'S THE ALTERNATOR? LET US KNOW HOW YOU GOT IT FIXED. THANKS.
