Hi - I have a saab 9-5 1998 with 230,000km I put the recommended fully synthetic oil in last time - it has a small oil leak and blows a little blue, I think because the oil is too thin and the engine isnt brilliant. Plus the fully synthetic is so damn expensive. Can I use an alternative thicker and cheaper, if so what type? I live in Sydney Australia.

The best oil for a saab is what u put in last time full syn oil, if u use a thicker oil u r going to have sludge issue then u r going to loose the engine totally. There is a saying the cheapest always works out the dearest. Remember that. Good luck
