I regretfully took my 03 Saab 9-3 turbo with 80K miles into Jiffy Lube for an oil change. They sold me on a radiator flush and after what seemed like a long time they could not get my car to start it was making a high pitched whistle. My engine was towed off the bay. Their mechanic replaced the starter and told me that the engine began smoking and shaking and that I would need a new engine. Their insurance company is now having the engine torn down to try and deny the damage. The mechanic is having a hard time getting the head off the engine. Would pouring cold coolant all over my engine cause such damage. Is there any way they are going to get out of this? Thanks

Tell them you want them NOT to touch the engine, you want it towed to Saab. They did a BMW 7 series near my shop, they forgot to check for oil leaks and the filter had 2 gaskets on it, the old and new, by the time the guy got to my shop less than a mile away, his engine was gone too.I got him a new motor, installed at BMW! Puttin cold coolant into a hot engine is not the best thing to do. Remeber, it's your car, not thier's, they MUST return it to your desired location!
