I ran out of gas once. Ever since it’s been running rough. Mechanic took fuel pump off, checked it, blew air through it and said fuel pump was fine. Told me put fuel additive in next couple times I gassed up. And to give it the gas and run it fast! That it would work possible trash out by itself. That was a year ago and she’s still running rough? Any ideas?

Hello,

This could be a few different things, but if we are leaning to the fuel side of things, then I would recommend changing your vehicle's fuel filter. When you run low or out of gas, you suck up all of the debris on the bottom of the tank and the debris can clog your vehicle's fuel filter. The fuel filter on your vehicle is located in the fuel sender assembly. The fuel sender assembly is located in the fuel tank. In the diagrams down below I have included the instructions for the removal and installation of the fuel sender assembly for your vehicle. Please get back to us with how everything turns out.

Thanks,
Alex
