I was driving at about 25 to 35 MPH, and my RPMs went to zero and back to 2 quickly a couple times then my car quit. It started back and drove normal until this morning it did this again and wouldn't start back. I had a diagnostic scan run on it and it came back with a crank position sensor which I had replaced immediately. When they finished, I drove it home and ran perfectly. I waited about 2 hours tried to drive it again and the RPMs started doing the same thing again, so I took it back home and didn't drive it again.

Hi,

We need to determine what is missing, ignition spark or fuel. A faulty part may have been installed, so here is what I need you to do.

First, see if the engine starts if you use starting fluid. If it starts and then stalls, we know it is a fuel-related issue. If there is no change, we need to check for an ignition spark.

Here is a link that explains how that is done:

If you find there is no spark, have the crankshaft position sensor connector checked or have them replace the sensor.

Let me know what you find.
