Rough idling

I was driving my Ford Focus today and when I came to a stop the car was rough idling sounding like it wanted to die but once I put it in park the idling steadies off. What's wrong?

Could possibly be a vacuum leak or coil pack. Is there a check engine light?

The engine light came on for a minute but than went off

Ok, go to a parts store and see if they can retrieve the code. They will do it for free.
