Ring clocking

Can you please tell me if the rings should be clocked a certain way before installing the piston.

Ideally you want the top compression ring gap and the second ring gap to be 180 degrees away from each other, usually with the gaps 90 degrees off from the wrist pin. Then on the oil rings you want them to be 180 degrees out and in line with the wrist pin. That puts each gap location in an area where no other ring gaps occur.
