Reversing is this to do with the brakes

When I reverse to the left stop and then put into drive to pull away as I do so there is a clicking sound. This stops once I have straightened up and pulled away. What is this please? I have not notice if I reverse to the right.

Clicking while backing up and turning to the side is often the result of a worn outer CV joint. A mechanic can tell that by the sound when he takes a short test-drive.
