Got all forward gears but no reverse instantly. What could be wrong with it?

Depends on which engine and transmission you have. If you have a version of the 727 hydraulically-controlled transmission, the best suspect is the low/reverse band broke. The clue is if you shift to "low", or "1", when you accelerate, it will up-shift to second gear. It will not stay in first gear.

How do you know that? You have to disassemble the transmission to get to it or you have to try to adjust it and see if the adjuster can become tight.
