Replacing tires after two years

My wife took her car to the same Ford dealership we purchased for routine maintenance. They told her that she will need to replace front tires soon. Car is two years old and has roughly 38,000 miles.

She did get a nail in the tire for about a week and they tried to blame it on that. They couldn't schedule us for fix until end of the week. We stopped almost daily though to make sure tire pressure was in recommended range.

Not one to usually question a mechanic since they obviously know a lot more than I do but just seems a little strange after only 2 year and 38,000.

Good morning,

Is the tire tread to low? What is the tire tread depth that made them come to this conclusion?

Have you had your tires rotated every 6,000 miles and alignment done every year?

Thanks for the fast response. Unfortunately, I'll have to get back to you about the tread. I was a little premature in my post not expecting such fast response. I am at work and don't have the service documentation from her visit today in front of me. Her words over text message from technician was "the tread in the middle is okay but need replacement soon." Obviously not going to help you so will have to get back to you.

Regarding the rotation and alignment, yes sir try to stick pretty closely to the service appointments.

Thank you.

From that report, you have an alignment issue that caused the tire to wear unevenly. That is why the tires are low in tread and will need to be replaced.
