Hello,
I am trying to replace the thermostat on my truck. The mounting bracket has 2 mounting bolts, the right one is easily accessed but there is an interference to the left one because of an overhanging chrome colored tube directly about the mounting bolt. I need to know how to remove that tube, so I can access the left most bolt.

I am not sure how to attach a photo to this site.

Hi,

I see an A/C line and a small metal tube on the rear. I checked the manual and there is nothing related to the removal of either of those.

I have a question. If you remove the upper hose, it appears you may be able to get a socket down on the bolt. You may need to use a wobble extension. Actually, I would use a quarter-inch drive socket, extension, and ratchet. Also, I noticed in the directions the upper radiator hose is removed first. Try that and see if you can get to it.

Take a look at the directions below. Nothing is mentioned. I suspect once the hose is removed, you will be able to access it.

Let me know.

Joe
