Why am I unable to put the new serpentine belt on? While it has the same part #s as the old belt and is basically the same size, I cannot get the new serpentine belt back onto all the pulleys. It just is way too tight. Any suggestions?

Ya put a wrench in tensioner and move it out of the way. If you are replacing belt you should replace tensioner as well. There should be a spot to put a 3/8" drive ratchet in the arm to move it. It will only go one way

Thank you for your reply. I went to a different car part store and bought a different manufacturer's replacement belt made for my vehicle and it went on amazingly easy. I don't understand why there should be a difference between who manufacturers the part but I'm glad I tried. Thank you, again, for your quick reply.

It may have been the wrong part number, the numbskulls at auto parts do that quite often
