Replacing the hood, welded connections?

Hi,

The hood paint is starting to peel so I am trying to find a cheap solution to replace it (other parts of the car's paint is okay).

I am looking at going to the local pick and pull to get a 2003-2007 Accord hood in the same color.

However, from reading another forum, the 2004 Honda Accord Sedan V6 has its hood welded on at the bottom joint where the hood angles from the car. What I can tell is that then I can't just "remove the screws" and replace the hood, it is welded on.

How would you remove / replace the hood? Do you need some grinder or force the hood off and break the weld or through some other means?

Thanks,
Ed

If it is welded that is the way to do it even though I have never seen a welded hood before. Here in the adjustment instructions, they do not mention a welded hinge. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
