Does the water pump need to come off for this job?

Good afternoon.

In order to remove the seal, the front timing cover has to be removed.

Yes, the water pump has to be removed.

The belts have to come off, the crank pulleys have to come off, the harmonic balancer has to be removed and the water pump before the cover will come off.

I have no problem. I just would like to know what oil seal you would recommend?

Good evening.

Either Timken or AC Delco. They are both good seals.
