My husband just got stranded on the side of the road. After getting under the car and looking and having his dad move the steering wheel he could see that the driver side CV axle was clanging all over the place. Back in March (six months ago) my husband and father inlaw replaced both front CV axles and then took the car in to Tire Discounters to have it checked. Why would this happen six months after being changed? Could there be another underlying issue or did we just get unlucky with a bad part?

Good evening.

Where did you purchase the parts?

It does sound like a bad part, but my question is why? Parts fail for a reason. That is why I am asking where they were purchased to see if it was a quality part.

Okay, they have a 1 year warranty on them anyway.

I would return the bad axle for a free replacement.
