I just replaced the transmission in it. After installing the rebuilt transmission, the tile will start and run but it will not move at all. You can shift through all the gears. When You look the rear driveshaft does not spin. What could be causing this problem?

Hi,

I have several questions, so I apologize in advance for them. However, this could be the result of several things.

When you shift from gear to gear, does the indicator show the correct gears? When the transmission was installed, was the shift linkage properly installed? Was the torque converter bolted to the flywheel? Was the front pump properly seated onto the torque converter? I don't know if you installed the filter and pan, but the filter may not be fully seated. Also, if the transmission cooler is plugged, it can cause low line pressure preventing it from operating. Was the original transmission's fluid extremely contaminated? Have you scanned the computer to see if there are transmission-related diagnostic trouble codes?

This is a tough one since the transmission was rebuilt. One would expect things to work perfectly, but based on your description, it's not working at all. So, the thing that makes sense to me is something simple may have been missed. That's why I'm asking general questions.

I do have another one. If you place it in park, does it hold the vehicle? If it does, will the vehicle coast when in neutral?

.

Let me know.

Joe
