Over heating

I got a renault clio 1.4 automatic 1994 only 4500 miles, I go up the road and it starts overheating I replace the thermostat and it still does it. I havnt got any smoke coming out the back. Is it the head gasket gone? If it is how much will it cost me to replace it? Im frm the uk

Check to see if the radiator is clogged, if you are not loosing collant then it seems like a blockage, if you do loose coolant have the system pressure checked.
