Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Renault Laguna Front Wheel Drive Manual 84000 miles

I had this car serviced 3 weeks ago, oil filters were changed and oil was topped up. It had new timing belt and pump last year at the same garage. The car showed yesturday that it was empty with oil yesturday which is obviously not right. It is not smoking, it does not smell and they have ruled out an oil as there is no oil so it is using it somehow. They have said that it could be the turbo which is a fortune or that it is over pressurising. Are any of these connected to the timing belt? Connected to the service ive had or is it pur coincidence. Should I get rid of the car. The problem is not fully diagnosed yet but can you offer any advice on the matter.

Many thanks

Hi there, the turbo and the timing belt are not interconnected, if the turbo was the fault you would have excessive blue smoke, if there is no external leaks, it will be burning oil, that is if it was filled correctly in the first place, what oil is being used, if the engine is now using synth oil when it was a mineral based oil this also could be your problem.
