we need to get it repaired to pass the mot so I wondered is it possible to replace gaitors/bushes or is the steering rack a whole part as on our old (94) espace? And how much it is likely to cost?

On uor last mot we were told that there was play on the offside and nearside steering rack, it makes a rattly banging noise when you go over bumps etc,
we need to get it repaired to pass the mot so I wondered is it possible to replace gaitors/bushes or is the steering rack a whole part as on our old (94) espace? And how much it is likely to cost?
