I've had the same problem as another forum poster with the heater fan speed control works ok at all 4 speed options. When it does work, it works for around 5 minutes or so and then slows down over the course of a minute or so and then stops but more often than not, it doesn't work at all. Tapping the blower casing sometimes gets it to work.

I would Replace the blower motor resistor first as this can loose connection when hot. If this does not cure the fault the blower motor must be breaking down/jamming up when hot !
