Smells problem
1999 Renault Clio

my car is now not starting at all, before it stopped, was getting a burning smell, the wipers would not turn of the lights wont work the central locking wont work.
for a while previous to this it would have a habbit of just stopping and then taking some time to start,
is this electrical or other and which is my best way of getting it repaired, is it worth repairing, do you have a idea of how much it might cost to repair.

firstly you need to get the car to a garage to have it diagnosed. Garages generally will not charge you for a diagnosis in the hope they get the go ahead for the work ! Once you know what is wrong and the cost involved you can make a decision on whether it is worth repairing. The stopping and starting sounds like it could be the CKP(crankshaft position sensor) an easy and cheap repair. The burning smell is obviously dangerous so it is probably a good thing it will not start now. Some clio models have an issue with the wiring on the wiper/light's stalk's around the steering column ! Ask the garage to check these. Hope this helps. Let me know
