Hi,

When you say it won't go over 2,000 RPM's, is it shifting at that point or remaining in the same gear and just doesn't increase? Is the engine running normally up to that point? Have you checked to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored in the computer? When it reaches 2,000 RPM's, does the engine make any noises, bucking, misfiring or anything you can think of that may help me?

Sorry for all the questions, but there are a number of things that can causes this. For example, low fuel pressure, a faulty crank/cam sensor, a partially plugged catalytic converter, and so on.

The first thing I would recommend is to have the computer scanned. Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but most times a parts store will do it free of charge. Have this done and let me know what codes are retrieved.

Take care,
Joe
