The engine light keeps coming on and going off. I went to Auto Zone to have diagnostic run and code is P049D. It says EGR'A' control position exceeded learning limit. The question is what could be causing this? Is this covered by warranty?

Yes, this is emissions so it should be covered, here is the valve in question that needs to be replaced, (it must be defective). Be sure to clear the codes once the job is completed. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I can confirm that my problem was covered by the warranty. The problem ended up being a faulty EGR valve and screen gasket. I ended up having my car towed to Hyundai after I lost power going up a hill yesterday 1-22-2025. My car is only 3 years old with 47,000 miles which was also covered.
