I want to do a complete rebuild of my 5.0L 302 engine that came out of a 1994 F-150. I want it to be an off-road performance build for under $5,000.00. What are all the parts that I need to do this?

Also, I would like to do a 4x4 conversion if you could tell me what I'd need to do that.

Good morning,

You will need to remove and strip the engine down to a bare block. The block will have to be boiled and cleaned and checked for the cylinders. I would have it punched out .030 over. I attached a YouTube of the procedure for you.

You will need a complete engine kit including a crankshaft. You will need the heads to be done at a machine shop as well.

Then the assembly. You should replace parts such as the water pump, fuel injectors, all hoses, and belts as well.

As far as the $5,000 budget is concerned, it will be close. You may exceed it by a bit.

Okay, as far as the conversion is concerned, this is a huge undertaking.

You will need transmission with a transfer case, a complete wiring harness from the donor truck.

The complete front suspension will need to be removed. Then everything from the donor truck is transferred over to your truck.

There will be a lot of welding involved in setting it up.
