Front Wheel Drive (FWD)

Shock Absorber

 Adaptive chassis DCC shock absorber, removing and installing, refer to => [ Shock Absorber, FWD ] See: Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber Service and Repair Removal and Replacement Self-Leveling Suspension Shock Absorber, FWD.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

 Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)
Removing

Remove wheel.
Remove wheel housing liner.
Remove coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ]. See: Coil Spring
Remove bolts - arrows -.

Remove bolt - arrow -.

Remove shock absorber.
Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

 The bolted connections of the shock absorber to the wheel bearing housing must only be fastened when the dimension - a - is achieved! => [ Measure Dimension ] See: Front Wheel Drive (FWD).
Insert shock absorber and tighten bolts - arrows -.

Tighten bolt - arrow -.

Install coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ]. See: Coil Spring
Install wheel housing liner.
Install wheel and tighten. Refer to => [ Tightening Specification for Mounting Wheels ] See: Wheels and Tires Wheel Stud / Lug Nut Specifications Tightening Specification For Mounting Wheels.
